Let’s resolve to make Nigeria great -Taraba speaker to Nigerians

A call for Nigerians to put aside their differences and catapult the country that prides itself as the giant of Africa, was on Saturday made by the Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly.

The Speaker, Joseph Albasu Kunini made the call in Jalingo, in a statement while felicitating with Tarabans and Nigerians at large, on the occasion of Nigeria’s 62nd Independence Anniversary celebrations.

He said, 62 years ago, “Nigeria joined the comity of nations as a sovereign state, following many years of nationalistic struggle by the nationalists and the founding fathers for Independence.”

”Nigeria’s ability to survive as one political entity, despite the tortuous journey in the past 62 years is glaring evidence of its resilience and total commitment of the citizenry.”

He beckoned on Nigerians, irrespective of their political parties, religions, tribes and geopolitical affiliations to push aside their differences by helping to catapult the country to the height.

He said, “as we celebrate the nation’s 62nd Independence Anniversary, let us use the auspicious and momentous occasion to seek for nation-building which entails a commitment to work assiduously together to eradicate the sharp divisions and injustices of the past and present, to foster national unity and integration for enduring peace and stability in the polity.”
