The Olowu of Owu, kingdom in Abeokuta, Oba Saka Matemilola, has reaffirmed his dedication to fostering development through strategic investments in education, youth empowerment, and social inclusion, aiming to uplift diverse segments of the Owu community.
Oba Matemilola, who spoke at a press conference held on Monday, to officially launch the 2025 edition of Odun Omo Olowu Festival, maintained that education is the only means to break through the cycle of poverty.
The monarch described the one-week festival as a season of reflection, unity and renewal for the Kingdom.
In a remark, Chairman planning committee of the 2025 Odun Omo Olowu Festival, Prof. Al-Moruf Adelekan, stated that the festival would include Kabiyesi’s community tour of Owu townships within and outside Abeokuta to strengthen the bonds and reaffirm the cultural identity of the people.
The Committee Chairman also listed corporate branding exhibitions, art showcasing and conferment of chieftaincy titles on distinguished personalities, and the Ajibosin Platform Symposium as some of the activities lined up for the celebration
