Olajide Bashorun Omokore is a businessman, the Chairman of Atlantic Energy Drilling Concepts Nigeria Limited and director of Seven Energy International Limited. He was born into a family from the Isanlu town in Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, Nigeria. He
An indigene of the Okun tribe in Yorubaland, Jide grew up in Egbe, Kogi State where he had his basic education before proceeding to tertiary college where he obtained his degree.
Omokore is the chairman and founder of Energy Resources Group; Atlantic Energy Brass Development Limited and Atlantic Energy Drilling Concepts Limited, one of Nigeria’s largest privately held conglomerates. ERG has interests in oil trading and exploration, haulage services, steel, dredging engineering and property development. The group’s annual revenue exceeds $400 million.
Omokore has been in a lot of controversies. He was alleged to have colluded with Sunny Essien, a former Managing Director of the then publicly-owned company and others to funnel ?10million belonging to National Fertilizer Company (NAFCON) into former President Obasanjo’s campaign account, largely through the company’s account domiciled with the Abuja branch of the defunct Trade Bank.
He is believed to have been indicted by the judicial commission of enquiry which looked into the finances of NAFCON.
Since 2017, he has also been investigated alongside former Nigeria Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke for money laundering and fraud offences. As part of the investigations, his private jet was ceased. He is also a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). Feeding on the PDP cauldron of loot crazy, Omokore was lord of money, affluence and authority.
Omokore has been romantically linked with a television reality queen Porsha Williams. Porsha is a member of Real Atlanta Housewives reality show. The new relationship came after he was blanked out of his marriage. While the love affair lasted, Porsha was said to have enjoyed a great deal of luxury lifestyle which included the 300,000USD Rolls Royce.
