Real Madrid suffer major injury blow ahead of Villarreal clash

Real Madrid have confirmed that captain, Sergio Ramos, has been diagnosed with a strained hamstring injury on his right leg ahead of their away La Liga fixture against Villarreal on Saturday evening.

Real Madrid made this known in a statement on the club’s official website on Thursday.

Zinedine Zidane’s side head to the game after losing 4-1 to Valencia in the La Liga earlier this month before the international break.

The statement reads: “After the tests carried out today on Sergio Ramos by the Real Madrid medical department, the player has been diagnosed with a strained hamstring in his right leg.

“His recovery will continue to be assessed.”

The kick-off for the match is 4:15 pm Nigerian time.
