The chairman of Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Hon Iliya Habila has suspended the hamlet head of Sabon Layi Kwara, ASP Daniel Salka (rtd) over alleged violence which led to the death of his wife, Mrs Hajara Daniel.
This was contained in a press statement made available to journalists in Bauchi by the council.
Salka’s suspension, according to the press release, was conveyed to him in a letter signed on behalf of the chairman by the Director Administration and General Services of the council, Mr Marcus Nehemaih.
The suspension is with immediate effect pending the outcome of investigations by the police.
Salka, the release added, is alleged to have beaten his wife to dead on 19th April 2021.
He was arrested by a combined team of vigilante and DSS on the 26th of April, 2021 at Bayara suburb and has since been handed over to the police in Bogoro.
