Man City vs Chelsea: Ian Wright predicts team to win Champions League title

Former Arsenal and England striker, Ian Wright has tipped Manchester City to win this season’s Champions League.

Manchester City will clash with Chelsea in Champions League final on May 29.

While Chelsea overcame 13-time winners, Real Madrid to book a final, Manchester City defeated Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-final.

A win for Man City will be their first ever and a third for their manager, Pep Guardiola while Chelsea is going for their second title.

Manchester City have also clinched their fifth Premier League title in nine years while Chelsea have also been in fantastic form since Thomas Tuchel’s appointment in January.

Tuchel’s side has also beaten Manchester City two times this season, once in the FA Cup and last Saturday’s 2-1 victory but Wright expects a different outcome in the Champions League final.

“I’m really confused simply because of the amount of players who were missing for Manchester City in the last game,” he told the Wrighty’s House podcast.

“I like how ballsy Chelsea played, but will they do the same with De Bruyne, Mahrez and Gundogan playing? I just feel that this is it for Man City, they have to make it happen.

“Whereas with Chelsea, we saw what happened with Frank Lampard and then Tuchel has come in and turned it around and, bang, they’re in the final.

“They seem to be going into the final with a lot more confidence even though City are all-conquering. But I’m probably still going to go with Manchester City.

“I think they have to get over the line to really rubberstamp the dominance they’ve had in the Premier League in the last few years. I think they will just get over the line.”
