A former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja has advised President Muhamadu Buhari, to without wasting time, address Nigerians on salient issues across the country.

Ladoja said the need for Buhari to talk to Nigerians is necessary at this time, in order to douse tension that has enveloped the country.

He spoke while addressing journalists at his Ondo street residence in Ibadan, the state capital.

Our correspondent gathered that there had been ongoing tension occasioned by agitations for secession, restructuring, insecurity, acute inflation, poverty and other social problems.

But, Ladoja who spoke on Tuesday, causioned Buhari against continued silence on issues that are causing division in the country.

He, however, enjoined Buhari to talk to Nigerians in order to douse tension and prevent further division in the country.

He added that many people have alleged that the President is no more in charge because he (Buhari) has failed to address the country on issues bothering on agitations for secession, restructuring, insecurity and inflation.

Ladoja said, “He should talk to Nigerians. He should talk to us. Maybe the tension will go down.

“This is why some people said that the President is no more in charge. It seems he has been condoling it.

“We have not heard that this man who collected ransom on rof kidnappers, Gumi has been arrested.

“Are you saying that the Nigerian Army is not capable to crush Boko Haram?

“The kidnappers are kidnapping traditional rulers, they they even kidnapped a traditional ruler in Daura at the state of the President.”Buhari
