CP Echeng commend police, vigilante over arrest of suspected ritualist in Bayelsa


The Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, Echeng E. Echeng, has commended the Operation Doo Akpor and vigilante members for their role in the arrest of a suspected ritualist, Sunday Favour Ojo ‘m’ in the state.

CP Echeng also appealed to members of the public to continue to volunteer useful information to the police and other security agencies noting that discreet investigation into the matter has since commenced.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Bayelsa State Police Public Relations Officer,Asinim Butswat.

It would be recalled that the Nigeria Police Force,Operation Doo Akpor in collaboration with vigilante members of Ogobiri community, Sagbama Local Government Area, Bayelsa State arrested the suspected ritualist who hails from Edo State today at about 1100hours, at Ogobiri- Toruebeni drive in Sagbama Local Government Area.

The police image maker said the suspect allegedly lured his victim, Deborah Emafridom ‘f’,a student of Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Amassoma, to a nearby Bush tied her hands and was about to slit her throat when he was apprehended by the vigilante members and Police Operatives.
