The Chairman emeritus of DAAR Communications Plc, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, on Sunday, led a delegation of supporters of former Vice President, Abubakar Atiku to Katsina, to drum up support for his candidacy.
While consulting with critical stakeholders at the Katsina State Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dokpesi said Atiku possessed the best credentials to bring Nigeria out of its present quagmire.
Dokpesi said: “The country is in a dire state. We have looked round to see who can provide the kind of leadership of General Shehu Musa Yar’adua when he was alive or the type of his younger brother, late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua of blessed memory. We believe that Atiku Abubakar is the most experienced, the most capable and the most willing to be able to provide such leadership.
“We are, therefore, asking General Shehu Yar’adua’s colleague, his younger brother, whom he brought into politics, who understands why the General wanted to come and rescue the country, that Waziri Atiku Abubakar is competent and capable of making sure that General Shehu Yar’adua’s dream is achieved.”
Speaking earlier, the PDP Chairman, Salisu Yusuf Majigiri, appealed to aggrieved members of the Party in the State who left for one reason or the other to come back and join forces to ensure victory for the Party in the forthcoming election.
“We can only win when we are united and committed. By God’s grace, we shall be more united, more committed to the course and we are going to emerge victorious,” Majigiri said.
