AFCON 2021: Sunday Oliseh tells Nigeria only way to succeed in Cameroon

Former Nigeria head coach, Sunday Oliseh has told the Super Eagles that the only way they would succeed at the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Cameroon is to play Nigerian football which is ‘aggressive and pace’.

Nigeria will clash with Egypt in their AFCON opening Group D fixture on Tuesday night in Garoua.

Augustine Eguavoen’s men are in Group D alongside Egypt, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau.

“The boys are under a lot of pressure. What they need to succeed is to play Nigerian football, it might shock you,” Oliseh told Complete Sports.

“But I think that is what they have to do to succeed and Nigerian football is aggression and pace. They shouldn’t look for how beautiful it is or whatever.

“They should just play Nigerian football, which is aggressive and with pace.”

The kick-off time for Nigeria vs Egypt is 5 pm.
