Police in Jigawa State have arrested four notorious drug dealers in their raid of criminal hideouts at Kazaure and Hadejia emirates.
Spokesman of the command, ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the arrest in a statement issued to newsmen
He said the raid follow the directives of the state Commissioner of Police, A. S. Tafida, to clamp down on criminal hideouts and black spots across the state.
According to the statement, two dealers were arrested on Thursday during the rigorous raiding of suspected criminal hideouts and black spots at Malam Madori Market, after intelligence information.
“We succeeded in arresting one Jibrin Haruna and Abdulmalik Yusuf all of Malam Madori town with exhibits,” he said.
He added that the other two drug dealers were arrested on December 31, 2021, at about 0700hrs at Kofar Tasha Kazaure Local Government Area.
The suspects are Basiru Usman of Maraganta in Gwiwa Local Government and Lawan Rabiu of Kanti, Kazaure Local Government.
The police spokesman explained that exhibits recovered from the suspects include tablets of Diazepam, wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, tablets of Tramadol, tablets of Exol, packs of Rexler paper and jacket knife.
He said the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution upon completion of investigation.
