Former Senate President, Saraki warned to steer clear of Zamfara politics

Senator Hassan Lawal Dan- Iya, the lawmaker representing Zamfara West Senatorial Zone at the National Assembly has warned former Senate President, Bukola Saraki to stay away from Zamfara politics following his comments on the recent impeachment of the Deputy Governor of the state Mahdi Aliyu Gusau.

A press statement signed and issued by the Senator alleged that Saraki is completely ignorant of happenings in Zamfara State and so should not meddle in state’s affairs by feeding falsehood to many Nigerians over the removal of the state’s Deputy Governor

He warned the former senate president to stop claiming that due process was not followed.

“As a former federal lawmaker, Bukola who is now known for destroying the decades of the Saraki political dynasty, especially in Kwara State and Nigeria in general, should have said what due process was missing, from the charges, to how the state House of Assembly impeccably handled the matter to the investigation of the legal committee set up by the state Chief Judge” the statement added.

“Mr. Saraki is absolutely wrong and Zamfara State will not accept anyone within or outside who is making any attempt to bring us on a collision course when we have already moved on positively.

“Note that the PDP having been pained by the defection of our dear governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle from the PDP to the APC last year, the party went to court asking the judiciary to remove the governor from office.

“It must also be noted that the former Deputy Governor’s refusal to join his boss to the APC was his personal choice and not even an issue because while the governor was moving to the APC, he never asked his Deputy to do so rather, he assured that they will continue working for the growth, development and progress of Zamfara State even as members of different political parties.

“Therefore Bukola should carry his meddlesomeness elsewhere because he cannot change where fate has put us at the moment. As Muslims, this is our strongest belief.

Recall that senator Buk0la Saraki recently condemned the impeachment of the State’s former Deputy Governor, Barrister Mahdi Aliyu Gusau, alleging that due process was not followed in all the process.
