2023: Nigerians massively reacting to NNPP activities – Party spokesman

Ahead of the 2023 general election, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) on Thursday said, the party which was relaunched recently will soon move from a ‘third force’ to the top in Nigeria’s political space given the massive reaction to its activities by Nigerians.

Agbo Major in an interview with journalists regarding the relaunching of the party and its preparation for the 2023 general election, expressed optimism that with the response of Nigerians toward the party’s activities in the recent time, NNPP will do well in the forthcoming elections.

He said though NNPP was recently relaunched, the party was registered about 21 years ago.

According to him, the party had just conducted ward congresses in all the local government areas across the country. The local government congress, state congress and national convention were also conducted peacefully, he said.

He said Nigerians will continue to embrace the NNPP because of the failure of the parties that have been in power.

He said in order to encourage youths, women and people living with disabilities, the party has announced zero Kobo for the purchase of the Expression of Interest Form and a 50% discount for the Nomination Form.

“Going towards 2023, we are now bigger. The party has been repositioned and still repositioning.

“In the past six months, we have opened our doors to Nigerians and you can see the influx of people across all levels, because of that we have expanded structurally and reengineered the leadership across all levels and the leadership structure across all divides was dissolved prior to the March 30th National convention.

“We have started the process of rebuilding across all the levels. We started from the wards. We now have a fresh ward structure in place across all wards in the country.

“We got the 36 states and FCT reconstituted with fresh leadership, people with fresh ideas and capacity.”

He said “the NNPP is the only party in Nigeria that has offered the youths less than 35 years of age fifty percent discount for the purchase of nomination forms. This has led to an influx of youths to the party and the party is equal to the task as it has put in place all measures to avoid rancour during the election.’
