Boko Haram-ISWAP: Military nab collaborators named by soldier who killed self


The Nigerian military have arrested some civilians working as spies for Boko Haram and Islmaic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP).

Intelligence operatives caught them after they were identified by the late Lance Corporal Jibrin, a soldier who assisted terrorists.

The skilful instructor with his Army Battalion in Geidam in Yobe State committed suicide on Tuesday.

Jibrin, who went missing for some days, was discovered to have partook in the deadly terror attack at Gashua and Geidam.

The phone line of the soldier was pinpointed at Gashua, several kilometers from his duty post.

Upon arrest, he disarmed escorts and killed himself while being taken to the barracks in Geidam.

A military intelligence source told PRNigeria that a number of collaborators were now in custody.

“We have arrested some civilian collaborators he mentioned in his confession during the initial interrogation.

“Other bad elements within our security apparatus are being investigated.”

The officer added that the circumstance surrounding Jibrin’s suicide is also under probe as well.
