Eid-el-Fitr: Remain vigilant, support security measures to safeguard lives, property – Police to Yobe residents

Yobe State Police Command has tasked people in the state to remain vigilant and support all security measures put in to safeguard lives and property before, during and after Sallah celebrations.

The Command gave the charge in a statement by its Public Relations Officer, ASP Dungus Abdulkarim in Damaturu.

It noted that as Sallah celebrations commence, it is expedient for all stakeholders in the security network to put their hands on deck to ensure a hitch-free celebration throughout the state.

“The Command condemns the recent bomb attacks in Gashu’a and Geidam.

However, investigations have commenced to unravel possible plans of similar attacks elsewhere in the state”, it assured.

The statement said additional measures have been emplaced to ensure vulnerable places are secure as members of the communities have been advised to contribute by providing useful and credible information to security operatives nearest to them.

While congratulating Muslim Ummah in the state for the successful completion of fasting, the State Police Commissioner Haruna Garba reiterated his commitment to the fight against crimes in the state, he also urged all and sundry to be security conscious, vigilant and report all suspicious movements, person, Object or gathering to the nearest Police Station.
