PSG Chairman, Al-Khelaifi snubs Messi, names best player in football

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Paris Saint-Germain, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi has described 23-year-old Kylian Mbappe as the best player in the world.

He said this despite having the likes of 7-time Ballon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi in the PSG’s dressing room alongside Neymar Jr.

Al-Khelaifi spoke at a press conference on Monday following Kylian Mbappe’s decision to snub Real Madrid and extend his contract with the Ligue1 champions.

“It’s is a huge day in PSG’s history, for all our fans in France and around the world,” he said.

“The best player in the world is staying for three more years and the fact he is staying is a huge statement of intent.”

LaLiga President, Javier Tebas slammed PSG for spending such a huge sum of money to keep Mbappe, Messi and Neymar at PSG and when asked about the criticism, Al-Khelaifi fired back.

“LaLiga isn’t the same as it was three or four years ago,” Al-Khelaifi stated.

“I respect all clubs and want my club to be respected too.

“I won’t get further into what you asked, though, since that’s not my business.”
