UCL: Major boost for Villarreal as Gerard Moreno returns, Liverpool suffer huge blow

Liverpool have suffered a major blow ahead of their Champions League semi-final second leg in Spain on Tuesday.

Top striker, Roberto Firmino will not be part of the second leg clash as he has not fully recovered from a foot injury.

He has missed the last four matches and, while he will travel with the Reds to Spain, he is not in contention to make the team.

Liverpool provisional squad: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Thiago, Henderson, Salah, Mane, Diaz, Kelleher, Gomez, Matip, Tsimikas, Milner, Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones, Elliott, Jota, Origi, Minamino.

Meanwhile, the host team, Villarreal are expected to welcome their top striker, Gerard Moreno back for the clash with Liverpool.

Moreno was not part of the Yellow Submarines squad that was defeated 2-0 at Anfield last week due to a hamstring injury.

The Spain international, is, however, expected to return on Tuesday, and would be a huge boost to Unai Emery’s side as they look to overturn a two-goal deficit.
