Transfer: Bayern Munich hijack Chelsea’s move for De Ligt

Bayern Munich wants to sign Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus, according to Sky Germany.

De Ligt is Chelsea’s top defensive target this summer, as Thomas Tuchel looks for replacements for Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

The Blues lost both Rudiger and Christensen as free agents this summer.

However, it is understood negotiations are already in full swing between Bayern and Juve.

The Dutch defender is also keen on the move after hearing Hasan Salihamidzic and Julian Nagelsmann’s pitch for the Bayern project.

Juventus value De Ligt at closer to €100m (£86m), around £10m more than they paid Ajax three years ago.
