2033: ADC denies collapsing structure in Ogun West, warns public against "hungry politicians"

The Ogun state African Democratic Congress (ADC) have denied purported rumor that it has collapsed the party structure in Ogun West for the purpose of the forthcoming general election.

The party in a statement made available to newsmen in Abeokuta by the publicity secretary, Oluranti Solomon insisted that the rumour is being circulated by "hungry politicians".

Solomon in the statement noted that the rumor emanated from one Lanre Adu Asungbalaja who was a former member of the party from Ogun West, but left after the 2019 general election.

The statement reads partly, “Mr Lanre Asungbalaja has seized to be a member of our great party ADC since the last electioneering in 2019 when he wanted to be the party Chairman.

"The structure of ADC in Ogun West remain intact and undiminished with faithful members."

The ADC spokesperson also noted that politicians should be weary of peasant and hungry politicians looking for cheap publicity and recognition at this period.

"The public is enjoined to ignore the false news, and support the party to achieve her aim of building a reliable and responsible government in Ogun state", the statement concluded.
