The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Kaduna on Friday unveiled Dr Sani Mazawaje as the running mate to its gubernatorial candidate, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi for the 2023 elections.
Unveiling Mazawaje in Kaduna, Hunkuyi assured of the readiness of the party if given the mandate to lead the affairs of the state to strictly govern by justice, fair play, and equity as well as carry every section of the state along to ensure peaceful coexistence in the state.
He lamented that the state was sharply divided on religion and section, saying that the essence of democracy by the people has been defeated in the state.
He observed, “Kaduna State needs a leader with a strong political will to ensure inclusiveness to quickly give the people hope of togetherness and doing things as expected in an ideal society.”
He added, “Presently as it is, the citizens of the state are in dire need of a leader that will unite and ensure equality in all spheres of governance to enable the people work together as a family for the overall development of the state.”
Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi decried the level of insecurity that has bedevilled the state, causing the loss of lives and property at an unimaginable proportion.
He called on the people to vote wisely in the coming general elections.
Dr Sani Mazawaje, the gubernatorial running mate on his part, said the 2023 general elections will provide Nigerians, especially the citizens of Kaduna State another opportunity to ensure they come in their numbers to vote against bad leadership.
He asked the electorates to ensure that credible leaders are voted into political offices for the restoration of the state to its lost glory.
He emphasized, “The 2023 general elections provide eligible voters an opportunity to vote in credible leaders into governance positions, to correct so many things that have gone wrong in Kaduna State and the country at large.”
