Niger/Kogi Customs Command declares war on smugglers, criminals


The Comptroller Nigeria Customs Niger/Kogi Area Command, Mr. Busayo Kadeyo, has vowed to deal with smugglers and criminal elements no matter how highly placed in the society.

Kadejo made the vow while briefing newsmen in Minna.

He stated, “Our job is to implement Federal Government’s fiscal policies. We are committed to achieving that and are determined to frontally confront smugglers and all other economic saboteurs whose antics we will always discover.

“We will continue to make arrests, seizures and cripple their operations.”

He disclosed that the Command generated over N60.6 million from contraband goods seized in November, adding that N56.6 million of the amount was from the sale of PMS loaded in jerry-cans being smuggled in a truck.

Kadejo also said Demand Notices generated over N10 million.

He explained that the achievement was recorded due to the deployment of massive intelligence, in addition to the support given the Command by the Comptroller General by way of provision of utility vehicles.

The Comptroller further revealed that, during the operations carried out by the Command, no casualty was recorded
