A former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, has said notorious bandit, Bello Turji is the next to be killed by the Nigerian military.
Ahmad was reacting to the death of a bandit leader, Kachallah Buzu.
Troops of the Nigerian Army had killed Kachallah during an operation on Thursday in Zamfara State.
Reacting, Ahmad commended the military for its recent massive operation in Zamfara State, where bandits have wreaked havoc.
In a post on X, Ahmad wrote: “May God bless the Nigerian troops! Halilu Sububu Buzu, a notorious bandit from Niger Republic who had been terrorizing the good people of Zamfara and its surroundings, met his end at the hands of the gallant Nigerian army.
“By God’s grace, Bello Turji will be next. Nigeria will prevail.”
During the operation that led to Kachallah’s death, troops seized motorcycles and a large cache of weapons.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, had vowed to end Turji’s reign as bandit kingpin.
Musa made the vow when he paid a courtesy visit to Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State.
