The Naira on Wednesday dropped to a two-month low against the United States Dollar at the official foreign exchange market.
The Central Bank of Nigeria’s data showed that the Naira further weakened to N1,455.38 per dollar on Wednesday from N1,454.38 traded on Tuesday.
This means that the Naira dropped by N1 against the dollar on a day-to-day basis.
Meanwhile, at the black market, the Naira remained unchanged at N1490 per dollar on Wednesday, the same rate traded on Tuesday.
Saga Gist reports that at the official market, the Naira declined by N3.517 against the dollar in the last three days this week and stands at N1,455.38/$. The last time it stood at this low exchange rate was on October 10, 2025.
This comes despite the continued rise in Nigeria’s foreign reserves, which rose to $45.38 billion as of December 9th
