Abia: YAN condemns abduction of ABSU students

The Abia State chapter of Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN), has condemned in its entirety the abduction of Abia State University students, describing it as the height of insanity.

The speaker of the Youth Assembly, Abia state chapter, Rt. Hon. Kachi Madukaego spoke through a press release issued on Friday.

The speaker said the kidnapping was unacceptable by Abia youths and called for their immediate release.

“It is unfathomable what these unknown gunmen went for innocent students who were sent to schools by their parents.

“Harassing and whisking students away from schools, to me, is the height of insanity and is unacceptable by the youths of Abia.

“Abia state is known to be peaceful and cannot cohabit criminality and banditry.

“We, therefore, call on the abductors of these students to immediately release them unconditionally to reunite them with their families.

“The government should beef up the security architecture in the state in order to forestall further occurrence.

It would be recalled that several students of Abia State University (number uncertain), were whisked away by unidentified gunmen on Wednesday and, are currently in their abductor’s custody.
