EPL: You’re too used to Germany – Aguero hits out at Man City striker, Haaland

Manchester City legend, Sergio Aguero, has appeared to criticize striker Erling Haaland’s performance against Liverpool in the Community Shield last weekend.

Aguero said Haaland is too used to Germany after the Norway international failed to find the back of the net as Man City lost 3-1 to Liverpool at the King Power Stadium.

Haaland missed a couple of chances, before a glaring one with a minute left in the encounter as three goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez ensured Liverpool defeated the Premier League champions.

The 22-year-old also struggled to compete against Liverpool’s centre-backs Joel Matip and Virgil Van Dijk.

And Aguero has now hinted that Haaland could take time to adapt to English football after his underwhelming display in the Community Shield.

“He was too used to Germany,” Aguero said on his Twitch channel.

“Haaland thought he was alone, then Van Dijk arrived and said, ‘welcome to the Premier League.”

Haaland netted 62 goals in 67 Bundesliga games across two and a half seasons for Borussia Dortmund and has been backed by bookmakers to finish as the English Premier League’s top scorer in his debut campaign for Pep Guardiola’s side.
