One person has died in a road accident along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Saturday.
It was learnt that the fatal crash occurred at about 03:20am at Ogere, after Iperu bridge, Ogun State.
The Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the incident.
Florence Okpe, the FRSC spokesperson in Ogun State, said three men were involved in the road crash.
”A total of three male adults were involved. Two were injured, while the third person was killed in the crash,” Okpe said.
According to her, the lone crash involved a Toyota Previa car, marked XX627RSH.
The car was said to have suffered a tyre burst while on top speed.
This, Okpe disclosed, “led to loss of control and the vehicle crashed into the drainage.”
She added that the injured victims were taken to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching hospital, Sagamu, while the deceased was deposited at the FOS Morgue, Ogere, all in Ogun.
The Ogun FRSC Sector Commander, Ahmed Umar, urged motorists to always comply with stipulated speed limits, as he condoled with the family of the deceased.
