U-20 WWC: Falconets target victory against Korea Republic

Nigeria’s Falconets will look to secure a place in the quarter-finals at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup when they take on Korea Republic in their second Group C game on Sunday (today).

The encounter is billed for the Estadio Alajuela Morera Soto. Kick off is 9pm Nigeria time.

Chris Danjuma’s girls started the competition with a 1-O win against one of the tournament’s favourites, the Bleuettes of France.

Enterprising forward, Flourish Sabastine netted the decisive goal seven minutes from time.

Korea Republic also started their campaign on a winning note, edging out Canada 2-0.

A win for either side will guarantee a place in the knockout round.

Canada and France will clash in the other group game.
