Niger police present N20.7m cheques to families of 11 officers who died in active service


 

The Niger State Commissioner of Police, Ogundele J. Ayodeji, has presented a cheque to the tune of N2.7 million to 11 families of police personnel who died in active service in the Command between 2021 and 2022.

Ayodeji presented the cheques to beneficiaries under the Force Group Life Insurance Scheme on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba at the Police State Headquarters, Dutsen-Kura, Minna, in a moody atmosphere.

The scheme is a welfare gesture, initiated by the Inspector General of Police towards improving the lives and capacity of the families left behind by the fallen officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

While presenting the cheques to the next-of-kin and family members, the CP thanked the IGP for such a laudable initiative to provide succour to the families of deceased persons.

Ayodeji encouraged the beneficiaries to effectively manage and judiciously use the resources for the better welfare of the families.

The families of the deceased expressed satisfaction and full of appreciation to the IGP, the government, and the CP for their efforts in ensuring better care for the bereaved families.

They all assured that the resources will be well managed towards an improved standard of living for the relatives.
