A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, election observer in Bauchi State, Alhaji Mukhtar Gidado, has commended voters’ turnout at Haruna Memorial Primary School, Polling Unit 029 at Mainau community of Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state.
While speaking with journalists at the unit shortly after commencement of accreditation and voting, Gidado ascribed the high turnout to adequate enlightenment carried out by the media and the various political parties in the state.
“I must say that based on my observation, there’s no voter apathy because people have been trooping to this polling unit since around 7.30am. I saw them when I came here around 8.00am and I must attribute this to the voter awareness by media organizations as well as the various political parties.
“I think the voters’ attitude is okay because there is no bitterness or acrimony among the various political party followers. You can see them exchanging pleasantries. So, God’s willing, things will go well as far as this polling unit is concerned,” Gidado, who holds the traditional title of Jarman Alkaleri, said.
