Police neutralise bandit, arrest two others in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command, in a joint operation with the military, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, vigilantes, and the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, KSCWC, neutralised a suspected bandit and arrested two others in Dandume and Sabuwa local government areas of Katsina.

The command’s spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, said the operation took place on April 19, 2024, around 9 am, following a coordinated intelligence-led mission.

He explained that the joint security team, while at Madachi village in Sabuwa LGA, encountered heavy gunfire from suspected armed bandits.

The team was able to repel the attack after engaging the hoodlums in a fierce gun duel, arresting two of the suspects.

ASP Sadiq disclosed that while combing the scene of the confrontation, the body of the neutralised bandit, along with two motorcycles suspected to have been used during the operation, were recovered by the security team.

Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Musa Aliyu, commended the operatives for their bravery and professionalism. He reaffirmed the command’s unwavering commitment to collaborating with sister security agencies and all stakeholders to safeguard the lives and property of residents in the state
