BREAKING: 2027: Tinubu hints at skipping APC campaign rallies across states

President Bola Tinubu has hinted that he may not attend campaign rallies in all states ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Tinubu gave the indication on Wednesday, while speaking at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The president said he agreed with calls for him to prioritise governance rather than allow campaign activities to distract him from running the country.

“You’ve warned me not to allow the rigour of the campaign to distract me from governance, I hear you. I am in full agreement with your decision. Nigeria needs more attention now,” Tinubu said.

“You will excuse me from going everywhere with you. We have bills to pay. The American creditors cannot wait,” he said.

We want those investors to come in, be here to stay, to invest for the future of our children,” he said

When there is nothing beautiful in a score sheet, it's difficult to present it. You know the people won't welcome you. Your policies have further plunged Nigerians into an all-time level of hyper-poverty. Sir, a campaign is an avenue to show your stewardship, your achievements, if any, and to tell the people your next move. Nigerians are not fools; your health can not cope with the demands of a campaign, and there is nothing to tell the people that will henceforth make sense. Nigerians are asking this simple question: When did you start paying attention to your citizens? At first, it was discounts on pump prices; now you are paying attention to us. All of this is a mere gimmick. Nigerian, please get your PVC and vote for the right candidate. If he can not campaign for himself, it's a red flag. Beware! Vote wisely.

If he can govern the country "effectively" while abroad, then I believe he can do more than that while campaigning at home (within Nigeria).
